School of Resources and Safety Engineering held a sharing meeting for returned young Scholars

In order to promote the international construction of the college, encourage students to go to famous overseas universities for further study and cultivate high-quality students, the RSE successfully held the sharing meeting for returned young teachers on the afternoon of December 2nd. Zhou Lei, Gan Quan, Jiang Han and Deng Bozhi, four returned teachers, Su Qinqin, Tian Rui and more than 100 undergraduates and postgraduates of the college were invited to attend the meeting.

First of all, Liu Li introduced the educational background and research direction of the participating teachers, and welcomed the participating students. She encouraged the students to learn from the excellent returned teachers, establish ideals, make plans, stick to the original aspiration, and serve the motherland.

 

 

Professor Gan Quan shared his experience and feelings from studying in the United States to teaching in the United Kingdom and back to teaching in China from the purpose of studying abroad, the gains and losses of studying abroad, whether he should go abroad or not, and the academic and language preparation before going abroad. He encouraged the students to have the courage to explore the height of life. At present, the development environment in China is getting better and better. The policy of attracting talents from various regions and universities is very conducive to the excellent young people to maximize their personal value and apply what they have learned abroad to the construction of the motherland.

Ms. Jiang han talked about her study experience and scientific research achievements in Australia, as well as the learning methods and novel scientific research ideas she learned in a foreign country. According to the current situation of students' study, she shared the skills of applying for scholarships from famous foreign universities and some perplexity and feelings encountered during the preparation period, encouraging them to make psychological construction and personal development plan for studying abroad.

Zhou Lei professor with his experiences in Germany to study, specifically analyzed the study in colleges and universities of choice and the dialectical relationship between personal interests and academic resources, and focuses on the development of mining, the resource class discipline in Germany, encouraged the students to actively go abroad, devoted to research and learning, slowly accumulate knowledge and experience, to deep research.

Prof. Deng Bozhi shared his life experience and experience of studying in Chongqing University and returning to the RSE of Chongqing University after his post-doctoral program in Georgia Institute of Technology in 2021. He talked about what he saw and felt during his postdoctoral work in Georgia Institute of Technology, introduced the latest research progress, foreign experimental environment, and effective methods to improve English level, and recommended relevant learning methods and practical information platform.

Ms Wei Wan introduced the "1+2" study abroad program between the college and the School of Mining and Technology of Clausthal University of Technology, and the relevant incentive policies made by the college to encourage students to study abroad. There was a lively interactive question and answer session.

 

Through the sharing of the overseas experience of the returned teachers, the students all said that they had gained a lot and had a clearer plan for the future, set up their ideals and set up high ambitions. Only in this way can they go higher and see farther, give full play to their talents and wisdom, and better serve the future development of the country.
